Homily given at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on December 24, 2017, the Vigil of Christmas, by Fr. Bill Spencer, retired priest of the Diocese of Saginaw, now in residence at Christ the King. Fr. Bill notes that the Church provides four different Masses for the celebration of Christmas: the Vigil Mass, the Mass at Midnight, the Mass at Dawn, and the Mass during the Day. He points out the different emphases of the four Masses and then reflects on the readings of the Vigil Mass, which emphasizes the humanity of Jesus.
