Homily given at the 11:30 Mass on Sunday, August 19, 2012, the Twentieth Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Pat Egan. In today's Gospel, the fourth passage from John 6 that the Church invites us to meditate on at this time of year, we see Jesus wanting to share the lives of His people and to have them share His. God is not removed from us. Rather, Jesus shows God entering into flesh and blood with us.
