Homily given at the 8:00 p.m. Mass on Monday, December 24, 2012, the Vigil of Christmas, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. We don't come together simply to commemorate what happened in Bethlehem long ago, but because we want Jesus to be born more deeply in us. We need to take this time of grace and peace to draw closer to Jesus, so that the Light that shines in the darkness will shine through our lives to others, both now and in times of darkness.
