Homily given at the 8:45 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 17, 2013, the Fifth Sunday of Lent, by Fr. Satheesh Caniton Alphonse of the Servants of Charity. (At this Mass the Third Scrutinies were celebrated for the RCIA candidates and elect, so the readings were from Year A.) Fr. Satheesh encourages us to see ourselves in Lazarus, who was raised from the dead by Jesus after four days. God helps us, but He does it in His own time. We are people of the resurrection, but it does not mean that we will not suffer. We must stay close to Jesus, and let God work in His own time.

Key words: resurrection, trust
