Homily given at the 12 noon Mass on Friday, November 2, 2012, the Commemoration of All Souls, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Fr. Ed explains how the first reading from the Book of Maccabees establishes a clear understanding of the existence of Purgatory, the part of the Kingdom of God inhabited by the Church Suffering, and the importance of praying for the suffering souls in Purgatory, especially those who have no one else to pray for them.
