Oct 8, 2015

Homily given at the 8:45 a.m. Mass on Sunday, October 4, 2015, the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Fr. Ed reminds us that today marks the beginning of the Synod of Bishops on the Family as well as the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, Pope Francis' patron saint. He elaborates on the significance of Francis' life and journey through his faith. Fr. Ed then goes on to defend the Synod and the Church in the midst of confusing media coverage in our society. He reminds us that the truth simply cannot be changed; therefore, the definition of marriage and family cannot and will not be changed.
