Dan speaks about the meeting of Cornelius and Peter as a turning point in human history when the saving grace of God is extended to the entire human race. This encounter with the living God should bear in each of us the fruit of the personal love of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. One of the best concrete examples of this self-sacrificing love of Christ is the love of a mother. We are all called to this same self-sacrificing love, which should draw others to Christ.

God is love, and He calls us His friends, which is an incomparable gift. As we approach Pentecost, now is a good time to ask, How are we responding to this gift of friendship, and what are some of the things that we can do to grow in friendship with Jesus?
