Homily given at the 8:45 a.m. Mass on Sunday, July 29, 2012, the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Dcn. Greg VandeVoorde, Christ the King Catholic Church. The Gospel of John leads us to Jesus in the Eucharist. Jesus, the Good Shepherd, feeds His people with Himself, and we share in the divine nature. May we always have the joy and excitement of little children at their First Communions each time we receive Jesus. Then let us go out and share the super-abundance of His divine grace with others. Key word: Eucharist |

Homily given at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, July 28, 2012, the Seventeenth Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Fortunato Turati of the Servants of Charity. Reflecting on today's Gospel, Fr. Fortunato says that we are now the large crowd, hungry for the love of Jesus. He feeds us, and we become the love and compassion of Jesus. When we surrender all our littleness to Jesus, He transforms us, and we can go out to the world, which is also hungry for His love, and feed them. Key word: Jesus, love, surrender, evangelization |
