Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, January 6, 2013, the Solemnity of the Epiphany, by Dcn. Gerry Holowicki, Christ the King Catholic Church. "Christ is born for us." We often focus on the first three words -- "Christ is born" -- and forget the last two -- "for us." Dcn. Gerry reminds us that the grace that rests on this day is for us to absorb more of the meaning of the appearance of Christ in the flesh for us. His love for us is so strong that He can overcome any darkness in our lives. Key words: Epiphany, Christmas, incarnation, conversion |
