Homily given at the 7:00 p.m. Life Teen Mass on Sunday, January 13, 2013, the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, January 13, 2013, the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord, by Fr. Frank Pavone, president of Priest for Life. Fr. Pavone reminds us that Jesus was anointed by the Holy Spirit at His Baptism to bring "glad tidings to the poor." Christ became man to become one with us; we must be one with Him in His mission to the poor and the world. None are poorer than the children in the womb. Christ is with us, to empower us to do what is right. We must reach out to those pregnant and in need, as well as those who have had abortions, and say, "I am with you," and replace their despair with hope. Key words: Baptism, abortion, hope, pro-life |
