Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, February 24, 2013, the Second Sunday of Lent, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Fr. Ed notes that the Transfiguration was a gift to Peter, James, and John so that they would understand Who Jesus is and not completely lose hope after watching the horror of His Passion. These gifts of hope and of the Communion of Saints in the midst of spiritual warfare are for us as well. Key words: Transfiguration, hope, saints, spiritual warfare |

Homily given at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, February 23, 2013, the Second Sunday of Lent, by Fr. Fortunato Turati of the Servants of Charity. Fr. Fortunato contrasts the glory of the world, spoken of in last week's Gospel, with the glory of God described in today's Gospel on the Transfiguration. We are all invited to enter into the cloud of the glory of the love of God with Jesus and then shine with His love to the whole world. Key words: Transfiguration, glory, love |
