Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 24, 2013, Palm (Passion) Sunday, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. What do we expect as we enter this holiest week of the year? Over and over, the Lord exceeds our expectations, as the popes of the last 60 years have demonstrated. This week we should have greater expectations of what the Savior has for us. He loves to save and we need Him to save us. Let's surrender our lives to Him and open our hearts to all the love and gifts that He wants to bring. Key words: surrender |

Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 17, 2013, the Fifth Sunday of Lent, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. In today's Gospel, the woman caught in the act of adultery experiences the unconditional love and forgiveness of Jesus. St. Patrick, whose feast would normally be celebrated today, also experienced the love and mercy of Jesus. He allowed Jesus to so deeply convert him that he wanted to share that love with the Irish, who had kidnapped him as a youth. He will always take care of us, if we will let Him convert our hearts and make them like His. Key words: love, forgiveness, mercy |
