Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, May 5, 2013, the Sixth Sunday of Easter, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. In today's reading from the Book of Acts, we hear the account of the first council of the Church, meeting in Jerusalem to decide on a controversy (Acts 15:1-29). Fr. Ed explains how this event is a demonstration of the Spirit-inspired teaching authority (i.e., Magisterium) of the Church. Keyword: Scripture, Holy Spirit, Magisterium, Tradition, Easter |
