In January 2014, Christ the King conducted a Member Engagement Survey with the help of the Gallup organization. On Monday evening, March 3, 2014, Albert Winseman spoke at an all-parish meeting at Christ the King to discuss the process and present the results. Albert Winseman is Gallup's Principal Consultant for faith-based organizations. He consults with congregations and parishes, denominations, dioceses, and religious organizations across the country, helping them put the power of engagement to work to improve their effectiveness. Winseman is author of Growing an Engaged Church and a co-author of Living Your Strengths, both available through Gallup Press. The second talk in the Walking in the Spiritual Gifts class, given by Dr. Mary Healy, associate professor of Sacred Scripture at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. This talk was given on Friday, February 28, 2014, at Christ the King Catholic Church as part of the Upper Room Ministry. This course is designed to inspire and equip participants to walk in the supernatural charisms as a way of life, especially to evangelize and to build up the body of Christ. It expands on last year’s Advanced Charisms Course. Dr. Healy speaks of the crucial role of both corporate and individual worship in walking in the spiritual gifts. (Note: The very beginning of the talk is, unfortunately, cut off and the opening minutes are somewhat distorted. The audio quality improves later in the talk.)
