Homily given at the 8:45 a.m. Mass on Sunday, March 9, 2014, the First Sunday of Lent, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Lent is not a time to beat ourselves up so that at Easter we can say to God, You owe me. The Father delights to give us the Kingdom. We just need to open the door.
