Homily given at the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, July 22, 2018, the 16th Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. This homily is the third in a series of homilies that began on July 8, 2018, on the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.

In today's Gospel, Jesus, the Good Shepherd, moved with pity for the crowd, responded by beginning "to teach them many things." Likewise, He responds to us in our need by teaching us through His Holy Word, especially during the Liturgy of the Word in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
