Homily given at the 8:45 a.m. Mass on Sunday, December 30, 2012, the Feast of the Holy Family, by Dcn. Greg VandeVoorde, Christ the King Catholic Church. It is important to be a member of a family. We are members, not just of our human families, but of God's family. Jesus, the Son of God, became human and became part of the human family. We become members of God’s family through our Baptism. This brings us great hope and joy. Key words: Christmas, family, trust, Eucharist, hope, joy |

Homily given at the 8:00 p.m. Mass on Monday, December 24, 2012, the Vigil of Christmas, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. We don't come together simply to commemorate what happened in Bethlehem long ago, but because we want Jesus to be born more deeply in us. We need to take this time of grace and peace to draw closer to Jesus, so that the Light that shines in the darkness will shine through our lives to others, both now and in times of darkness. Key words: Christmas, surrender to God, trust |

Homily given at the 10:30 a.m. Mass on Tuesday, December 25, 2012, Christmas morning, by Dcn. Larry Randolph, Christ the King Catholic Church. We need to reflect, like Mary, on what has occurred at Christmas with the birth of our Savior. We need to be in awe, as the shepherds were, and open ourselves to the abundant love that Jesus has for us today. We need to make sure that we don't miss the real meaning of Christmas, the birthday of Christ, by focusing so much on the celebrations and the "glitter" of the season. Key words: Christmas, thankfulness, love, transformation |
