Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, September 8, 2013, the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Every other relationship must be second to our relationship with the Lord Jesus. He must be at the center of our lives, just as Jesus Christ, the Eucharistic Lord, is the sacramental heart of the Church. Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, September 1, 2013, the 22nd Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. In today's Gospel, Jesus teaches about humility. We overcome pride and are empowered to live the humility of the Lord Jesus by fully surrendering our lives to Him and allowing the Holy Spirit to fully empower us to live for Him. The opening sentence of our mission statement underscores our need to be "surrendered to the Lord Jesus, in the power of His Holy Spirit, in the heart of His Church."
