Every other relationship must be second to our relationship with the Lord Jesus. He must be at the center of our lives, just as Jesus Christ, the Eucharistic Lord, is the sacramental heart of the Church. To keep Him at the center of our lives, we need to take advantage of all the resources that He makes available to us at the heart of His Church.

In today's Gospel, Jesus teaches about humility. We overcome pride and are empowered to live the humility of the Lord Jesus by fully surrendering our lives to Him and allowing the Holy Spirit to fully empower us to live for Him. The opening sentence of our mission statement underscores our need to be "surrendered to the Lord Jesus, in the power of His Holy Spirit, in the heart of His Church."
