Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, May 18, 2014, the Fifth Sunday of Easter, by Dcn. David Fons, newly ordained Transitional Deacon for the Diocese of Lansing. Dcn. David reflects on the call of the first deacons, recorded in today's reading from the Acts of the Apostles, and the call on all of us to live as disciples of Jesus in service to His Kingdom. Homily given at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, May 17, 2014, the Fifth Sunday of Easter by Fr. Nicholas Sseggobe-Kiruma, Chaplain at Spiritus Sanctus Academy. Fr. Nicholas reminds us that the entire Easter season is a time of new life for the Church, the Bride of Christ, when there are many entering the Church through Baptism and into vocations to marriage, priesthood, and the diaconate. We can trust Him to give us what we need to live out His call.
