Questions and answers following the first talk on conversion in the Christ the King Member Class, given on Sunday, October 12, 2014, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Following the Q&A, Dcn. Dan Foley gave some summary remarks. The Christ the King Member Classes are a series of talks for members of the parish discussing what is expected of parishioners. Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, October 5, 2014, the 27th Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. Today's first reading and Gospel both contain parables of vineyards. The fourth talk in the Life in the Spirit Seminar, given on Friday, October 3, 2014, at Christ the King Catholic Church as part of the Upper Room Ministry. After briefly reviewing the first three talks, Jerry Schoenle explains that to receive new life in the Spirit, we need to believe that God wants us to have it, ask God for it through prayer, and repent of any sin that might be blocking us from receiving it. Homily given at the 11:30 a.m. Mass on Sunday, September 28, 2014, the 26th Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Pat Egan, Chaplain at Ave Maria Radio. Fr. Pat, reflecting on today's Gospel (Matthew 21:28-32), notes that this parable is about changing our minds, putting God first, and doing His will. Then, turning to the second reading, he exhorts us to be of one mind as a Christian community, loving and respecting one another, in humility regarding others as better than ourselves, and looking to the needs of others before our own.
