Homily given at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, the 28th Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. This homily is the first in a series on the Apostolate of the Laity. 

Reflecting on the rich young man in today's Gospel, Fr. Ed notes that Jesus calls all of us to follow Him and build the Church, especially the laity, who are the focus of the Church's shepherds. We are all equally called to holiness and to receive the gifts that Jesus gives us. This is important to keep in mind in the midst of the current clergy crisis.
