Homily given at the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, August 2, 2020, the 18th Sunday in Ordinary Time, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church.
Fr. Ed notes that the Scriptures read at today's Mass are tailor-made for the times in which we're currently living (the 2020 coronavirus pandemic, etc.). Who isn't hungry and thirsty for sanity, for safety, but especially for that which gives meaning to our lives: more of Jesus?
Key words: Eucharist, Scripture, compassion, mercy, prayer, St. Ignatius of Loyola
