Homily given at the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday, July 16, 2017, the Carmelite Solemnity of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, by Fr. Ed Fride, Pastor, Christ the King Catholic Church. After explaining why we are celebrating Our Lady of Mount Carmel instead of the 15th Sunday in Ordinary Time, Fr. Ed talks about contemplative prayer. Our Lady intercedes for us that we would grow in contemplation, to which we are all called.
